European Individual Women’s chess championship, which is underway in the city of Turkey, Gaziantep has a leader. Slovenian Anna Muzychuk (2583) gained 7.5 points in 9 rounds and as a result she is in the first place. Russian Valentina Gunina (2511) and Victorija Cmilyte (2497) are half point behind a leader. Nino Khurtsidze (2525), Salome Melia (2400), Nana Dzagnidze (25559) and Bela Khotenashvili (2490) have the best results among Georgian participants of this tournament. They have 6-6 points and relatively share the 9th, 12nd, 13th and the 14th places.

 European Individual Women’s chess tournament will be held from March 2 until March 13. The championship will be based on Swiss system. March 15-16 is for rapid chess and March 17-18 – for blitz. Prize money of the tournament is 106 000 EUR and 10-10 000 EUR for rapid and blitz tournaments.
