Giorgi Shermadini returned to Athens and played against "Panathinaikos" which sold him to Slovenian "Olimpija". 4 000 spectators attended the leaders' match of Group D of Euroleague at O.A.K.A. Greek team won the match 95:88 in overtime.
New club of Shermadini was close to victory. "Olimpija" was 4 points (79:75) ahead at the last minute of the match. But they received 4 points from Dimitris Diamantidisi and overtime was appointed. He did miracles in the last quarter and he scored all 13 points.
Greek team played better than its opponent in overtime and finally, won 95:88. The team became leaders of the group and "Olimpija" is in the 2nd place now.
Shermadini played during 18:02 minutes. Player of Georgian team scored both 2-point and 2 penalties. He added 4 rebounds and 1 assist to 6 points. Giorgi made 5 mistakes and received 4 personal fouls. 2 fouls were committed against him.
Kenny Gregory (19), Vlado Olievski (16) and Saso Ozbolt collected more than 10 points in Slovenian club. Diamantidisi (16), Antonis Fotsis (17), Drew Nicholas (15), Mike Batiste (14) and Romain Sato (12) were the best players of "Panathinaikos".
On December 15, "Olimpija" will hold the 9th round match against CSKA Moscow in Ljubljana. Slovenians has already reached their goal - the club has guaranteed getting in top 4 of the group and accordingly, they will get in top 16 too.
