Shapatava has Successful Period

Last week Georgian tennis player Sofia Shaoatava managed to go through the final of the tournament which was underway in the city of Ukraine, Kharkiv. This time she competes at international tennis tournament Tevere - Rome 2011, which is underway in the capital of Italy, Rome (prize money is 25 000 $). She celebrated the first victory there. She won over Carolina Orsi 7:5, 6:4.

Her next rival is No.7 seed Paula Ormaechea of Argentina.
In double tournament Sofia and Shamayko of Russia play against Italian duet (Mayr/ Remondina).
One more interesting detail is that in spite of having joint prize fond Shapatava was No.1 seed at Kharkov tournament, but in Rome she is not ranked at all, it means that Italian tournament is much more difficult.
Natia Gegia and Viktoria Zhorzholiani will compete in the main wrap of the tournament which is underway in the city of Turkey, Izmir. They managed to go through the qualifying round. Tatiana Kotelnikova of Russia (ranked No.8) is next rival of Gegia as for Zhorzholiani, she will play against Croatian Tea Faber.

In double tournament Gegia and Italian Camplone will play against Flood of Norway and Mokh of Russia. Tamar Tskhakaia (she lost with Mokh in single’s qualifying round) and Australian  Sweeting will play against Italian duet - Zucchini and Caciotti.
