Set-Point with World No.1 Tennis Player

 

In the second set, Anna Tatishvili was winning over world No.1 tennis player Caroline Wozniacki 4:1. Then, she served when the score was 5:3 and had set-point on 5:4. Though, tie-break was held and Anna played unsuccessfully. She lost the second round of Australian Open 1:6, 6:7 (4:7).

We did not start talking about the match from the second set accidentally. In the first set, Caroline had obvious advantage. After that, Anna played much better and did her best against the titled opponent.

Tatishvili won some serves but she made mistakes too. Because of her weak serve, two breaks were not enough for winning the set. Anna served 152 km/h and Caroline – 173 km/h.

In spite of that, Georgian girl deserves praising. Tatishvili who is in 83rd place played against world No.1 tennis player equally in the second set. It is a great achievement and gives us hope for future.

Anna has one more “winners” than her opponent (20:19) and made more mistakes – 44:24.

Georgian tennis player did not serve ace (Wozniacki had 9 aces), made one double mistake like her opponent and lost her own serve 4 times (from 9). She used 2 from 6 tie-breaks. In the match which lasted one hour and half (the second set lasted one hour and 21 minutes), Anna won 63 points and Wozniacki – 83.

Tatishvili earned 100 rating points and waits for advance. Now, she will be concentrated on doubles draw. Tomorrow morning, in the first round, Tatishvili and Anastasiya Yakimova of Belarus will play against Daniela Hantuchova of Slovakia and Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland. 160 rating points are for overcoming the first round.
