Varlam Liparteliani finished competition in London Olympics 2012. The Georgian judoka (90kg) was one of the favorites. He won only one fight and lost the second one to Mark Anthony of Australia.

Liparteliani gained yuko against the Australian but later he lost by waza-ari. In the rest of the time Varlam gained only one yuko which was not enough to defeat the Australian.
