Davit Khakhaleishvili, presidential candidate and acting president of Georgian Judo Federation, made the second official statement in the recent days. Here is the letter which Khakhaleishvili sent to “World Sport” via e-mail.

Dear friends

As public knows, presidential elections of Georgian Judo Federation will be held on November 26 and I will participate in it.

I have participated in the elections before. I wanted to change situation in Georgian judo for better. I had progressive ideas and knew how to carry out them. But people who had good relationship with “United National Movement” seized the reins with unworthy actions. This movement has withdrawn professional and lobbied its favorite candidate for many times. Events of Georgian Football Federation are perfect example of it. The same situation in Georgian judo caused loss of its authority. A lot of good things could have been done during these years but these people were encouraged by the National Movement and did everything for their personal interests. Such actions, injustice and disorder established tough psychological environment in judo family. There were doubts and contradistinction. In such environment it is very difficult to be concentrated on result, win gold medals and make our fans happy.

Several years have passed since that elections but the people who acted unworthy with the support of the National Movement, are doing the same on behalf of “Georgian Dream”.

I want to state for them – it will not work now!

It is time for you all to leave this sport. You must stop your activities on behalf of “Georgian Dream”. Georgian people did not condemn regime of Saakashvili for that you continue committing crimes on behalf of new organization. It is time for us to serve judo honestly. It is time to restore justice in our big family.

I want to tell one thing to my teammates, worthy representatives and true fans of Georgian judo – we will win!
