Georgian National Team hosted Ukrainian National Team and as it was expected beat opponent with big point difference – 62:3.
In spite of impressive result, leadership of national team and rugby players are not satisfied with playing quality. All of them mentioned that they made mistakes and they remanded their mistakes during the match. In the first half they scored 4 tries and in the second half 6 ones.
Actually, a lot of good thing happened in this match. Georgian National Team gained premier point with scoring try in the first half. Managing board of national team checked new players in this match, one of them was Beka Urjukashvili, who scored try.
If “Lelos” were concentrated only on result they would gain 100 points in this match, but they are preparing for World Cup and their aim is to improve playing quality. It goes without saying that Georgian National Team was a favorite in this match. Most of time they were in hurry and it was causing mistakes.
As soon as match started Irakli Natriashvili scoted try and Merab Kvirikashvili realized well. Georgian players were playing very fast and most of time they were attacking, soon Samkharadze scored try and Kvirikashvili realized again very well.
At the 20th minutes was score the third try, but conversion was not performed well – 19:0. After this, Georgian National Team was relaxed a bit, Ukrainian National Team used it and soon performed penalty kick, but Kosarev could not kick it well. Guests started playing in the centre for some time, but soon Georgians attacked again, Irakli Machkhaneli started attack and finally she scored the 4th try and as a result Georgian National Team gained premier point. Kvirikashvili score not realization. Before finishinf the first half Kosarev had chance of scoring penalty kick but he could not score again.
The second half was like the first one. Davit Zirakishvili who was captain of Georgian National Team first time managed to score try, Kvirikashvili again could not score realization. After that back line started playing much better. Khamashuridze started attack, assisted to “Kachi, who scored try. “Meko” scored one realization from two and the score turned – 41:0. The most beautiful was the 8th try. Whole back line participated in this attack, Machkhaneli assisted to Beka Urjukashvili and he managed to score try, “Meko”: realized well. Gusts managed to gain some points after that, Kosarev used the third chance and – 48:3. It caused attack from Georgian side, Irakli Giorgadze started it and finally Abuseridze scored try, Kvirikashvili realized it. Soon back-liner Samkahardze started attack, Abuseridze had chance of scoring try but in vein, he could not. Before finishing the match was scored the next match, Giorgi Chkhaidze gained 5 points and Lasha Malaghuradze performed conversion kick.
So, Georgian National Team is leader at “Nations Cup” after the first match. “Lelos” holds the next match against Spanish National Team again in Tbilisi on February 12.
