We continue writing about regional football federation achievements. This time we will provide you with information about Samegrelo region.
“World Sport” talked about future plans to Sergo Kvaratskhelia the president of Samegrelo-Upper Svaneti Regional Football Federation. Georgian Football Federation with help of Governer of Samegrelo Zaza Gorozia, heads of all municipalities in this region and federation decided to hold 2010-2011 the second league amateurs’ tournament where 8 teams will participate. We have decided to hold championships among different age players.
- When is planned to hold tournament among amateurs?
- Championship will start on September 24. As for Samegreo Cup, teams of the second league will start competing on September 17. As for tournaments among boys and adults, these will start in October. Schooling in Georgia starts on September 15, and schedule of tournaments should suit to it. Tournaments will be held on weekends.
By the way, as it is agreed with Football Federation, the winners of these tournaments will play against each other for Super Cup next spring. If other regions also will have wish it is not excluded to create other format for amateurs Super Cup.
- Mister Sergo, how many teams participate in your tournament?
- In a result of GFF and regional government’s help we represent 2 teams for Supreme League, 3 teams for the first League, 8 teams for the second league and 40 teams for different age tournaments. So, Samegrelo plays big role in developing of Georgian Football.
- Some details about Amateur League, please.
- As far as you know, it is decided to hold championship in amateurs II league. It is being held in west Georgia into two parts – Samegrelo and Imereti. As for east Georgia, only Tbilisi Football Federation managed to staff teams.
- Regional federation of Samegrelo-Upper Svaneti set such price for participation in this tournament: - Amateurs II League – 5000 GEL, 4000 GEL is for referee and observers and 1000 GEL is for confirmation forms and other formalities.
- 1993/94, 1995/96 born cadet championships- 1000 GEL; 800 GEL is for referee and observers and other is for formalities.
- 1997/98, 1999/2000 born adults championships- 600 GEL; 400 GEL for referee (one referee serves match) other is for confirmation forms and other formalities.
