Oleg Iadze head coach of Georgian Sambo Team has named those sportsmen who will participate at European Championship. On May 12-16 European Championship starts in Sophia and besides male Georgian participants there are females as well.
“Dimitri Mumladze will wrestle in 52weight category. Kuzanashvili iin 57, Svimonishvili in 62, Beka Imerlishvili – 68, Kakha Mamulashvili – 74, Nikoloz Kutsia -82, Mindia Bodaveli -90, Mirian Pavliashvili – 100 and Vakhtang Zoidze in +100 weight category. Me, Badri Janiashvili and Emil Rash listed Georgian participants on our way and then it coincided to each other. In 68 weight category Nakhutsrishvili always was considered as leader but his rival Beka Imerlishvili wrestled so perfect in this season that he deserved being in this list.  He became champion of three tournaments in a row. Since 1991 none of Georgian has done it. In 74 weight category there is equal resistance between Mamulashvili and Giorgi Nozadze. Nozadze came in Sambo from Judo, he wrestles well but needs to improve his training. No matter what will be Mamulashvili’s result at European Championship, Nozadze will wrestle at the next tournament. I want to make brief comment about Mirian Pavliashvili. Unfortunately this very good sportsman got old and cannot wrestle as well as he did before. We decided together to give him the last chance. But it is fact that we do not have any good sportsman in 100 weight category who will change him. Supposedly two Georgian girls – Shorena Sharadze and Nino Odzelashvili will wrestle in Sophia. Shorena has just won Youth European Championship and as for Nino Odzelashvili, she is world champion in age group. Last Year in autumn she succeeded in Tbilisi”- stated Oleg Iadze in a talk with “World Sport”.
