Georgian tennis player Anna Tatishvili lost the first match in single draw as well as in double draw at French Open. In the first round of “Roland Garros” Tatishvili and Belarusian Daria Kustova lost with No.17 seed Argentine duet (Dulco- Suares) and lost 2:6, 6:7 (4:7).

It is worth mentioning that Tatishvili needs some points for participation in London Olympics and she has the last chance of it in this week. On June 11 is to be published new ranking which is very important for Olympic Games. Before it the only important tournament is left in England.

According to the preliminary information, Anna will be No.7 seed at Nottingham tournament (prize money 75 000 USD). Now Tatishvili is No.75 seed with 873 points in WTA ranking, for achieving her goal she needs about 10-place advance in ranking.

Ekaterine Gorgodze succeeded in the main draw of the tournament, after overcoming qualifying round of Italian tournament, which is underway in the city of Grado. Georgian tennis player beat Serbian Milana Spremo 7:5, 6:1 and in the 1/8 final she plays either Maka Chakhnashvili (No.7 seed) or Italian Erika Zanketa.

Another Georgian participant of this tournament Sofo Shafatava plays against No.1 seed Japanese Erika Sema. In the quarter final of double tournament Kvatsabaia and Shafatava play against Italian Clerico and German Ozga (No.4 seed). As for Chakhnashvili and Gorgodze they play against Spanish Kosta-Moriera and Ferer-Suares (No.2seed.)

 Tamar Chalaganidze  lost the first match with Marina Zubakova of Turkey – 3:6, 2:6 in the first circle of Trabzon tournament (10 000 USD); as for another Georgian participant – Teona Tatishvili, she lost with Russian Alina Mikheeva – 2:6, 2:6. Babilina Machaidze could not beat Anet Munuzov of Sweden- 4:6, 4:6.  As for Ani Gogvadze, she plays against Turkish Telin Dagilmisgul.

In double tournament Chalaganidze and Mariam Kurasbediani beat Tatishvili and Tamar Tskhakaia 6:1, 6:3 and in the quarter-final they play against German Kleinsteuber and Munuzova. Gogvadze and Mariam Kiknadze lost with Croatian Faber and Italian Scimone, Machaidze and Italian Mairis (No.3 seed) play against Asutrian-British duet (Gianoti-Starling).

 Natia Gegia plays against Serbian Tamara Tsurova at the tournament which is underway in the city of Uzbekistan, Karshi (prize money 10 000 USD).
