The second day of World Championship was more successful for Georgian Greco-Roman style wrestlers. Georgians won only 2-2 matches. Today winners will be found out in 60, 84 and 120 weight classes. Revaz Lashkhi (60 kg), Vladimir Gegeshidze (84 kg) and Guram Pherselidze (120 kg) wrestled today.
After the lost first set Lashkhi beat Abdulsamet Ugurli of Turkey. Then he easily defeated Edgar Venckaitis. In the 3rd set of the 1/4 final Lashkhi was beat by Riutaro Matsumoto and he stopped thinking about gold-silver medals.
Gegeshidze started championship with the lost set against Denis Forov wrestling in the name of Armenia. But finally, he won this match. Then he easily defeated Norikatsu Saikawa of Japan and went through the 1/8 final where he lost against Pablo Enrique Shorey Fernandes of Cuba.
Pherselidze could not win over American Dremiel Byers. Before that Georgian wrestler defeated Serbian Milos Spasic and Murat Ramonov of Kirgisistan.
Matsumoto and Fernandes went through the finals. So, Revaz Lashkhi and Vladimir Gegeshidze will wrestle in repechage. By beating Ukrainian Lenur Temirov Lashkhi won a right to wrestle in "bronze final" where Ji-Hyun Jung of South Korea will be his opponent. Gegeshidze was defeated by Alkhazur Ozdiev of Kazakhstan and lost a chance to take first three places.
