Return of Gold and Again Trauma

Otar Tushishvili, member of Georgian national free-style wrestling team, after long compulsory pause returned wrestling in the training centre of “Armia”, he wrestled well as usual and became champion of Georgia, but he injured again and instead of continuing training he will start treatment in the nearest future. Bronze medal winner at Olympic Games, wrestled in 66 kg weight category as usual and convincingly beat these following wrestlers: Irakli Jashiashvili, Zurab Iakobashvili, Irakli Tsotsonava and Giorgi Lobjanidze. In Final he won over Koba Kakaladze in three sets. Tushvishvili injured in this final fight. Zurab Kakhabrishvili, president of Association of Georgian Sport Medicine told the following to “World Sport” about his injury:” his rib broke and unfortunately, he will have compulsory pause again. Supposedly, he will start training in the next season”.
Koba Kakaladze, who won silver medal at Georgian championship, won over these five opponents: Besik Kochaladze, Lasha Bitarishvili, Abram Bodaveli, Giorgi Tsutskiridze and Mikheil Zarkua. In repechage final, Tsutskiridze won over Zarkua and Iakobashvili beat Lobzhanidze.

Appearance of Malkhaz Muziashvili also worth mentioning, but he lost the first match against Zurab Iakobashvili. 19-year-old Iakobashvili wrestled very well and as a result became prize winner at this tournament.
Tengiz Chochishvili’s wrestling is also remarkable. He reached to quarter final with effective victories, but in 1/4final he lost with Lobzhanidze in a very difficult match and lost chance of fighting in repechage.

Champions and prize winners were found out in 55 kg weight category too. Nugzar Skhireli’s sportsman won gold medal. Experienced Besik  Guchashvili beat all the opponents convincingly.  The most spectacular was final fight against Giorgi Edisherashvili. In decisive fight he won over Tristan Chirgadze, before it he beat Guram Maghradze and Otar Gogava. Edisherashvili won over Amiran Elbakidze, Nika Tatuashvili and Lasha Talakhadze. Elbakidze and Chirgadze won bronze medals.
In 84 kg weight category, Beka Chelidze won gold medal. Before final fight he beat Marad Zoidze, Levan Gogrichiani and Giorgi Okhidze. In final fight he wrested against Tornike Svanidze and managed to beat in two sets. Zoidze and Sando Aminashvili won bronze medals in this weight category. In heavy weight, favorites Levan Berianidze and Giorgi Sakandelidze managed to reach till final fight. The most spectacular were semi-final’s fights. Beriaanidze won over Levan Seturidze and Sakandelidze beat Giorgi Meshvildishvili, both of these matches were quite difficult. Decisive fight of the day finished in two sets. Sakandelidze gained victory in final.
On the second day of two-day tournament, champions and prize winner will be found out in these following weight categories: 60, 74 and 96. Besides Malkhaz Zarkua (60 kg) and Davit Khutsishvili (74 kg), who were allowed to miss this tournament by National Federation of Georgian Wrestling and coaching board of national team, all members of national team will wrestle at Georgian championship. Giorgi Gogshelidze (96 kg), European and World Champion is also among these wrestlers.
