Renewed MIA targets the top aim

 

Georgian Ministry of Interior Affairs police academy founded a new basketball club. Talking more precisely, MIA strengthened the team from the last Georgian championship. The new project was discussed during the press conference in the new police academy located in Gldani, Tbilisi. Basketball players that will play for “MIA” next season were introduced to the press along with the academy headquarters. There are only four new players however the team’s squad is strong enough to battle for the top spots in the championship.

“We will provide maximum for this boys. Hopefully the result will be inevitable. MIA should be the team that would be the top candidate for the first place.” – stated police academy rector Khatia Dekanosidze.

Club’s head coach Archil Jgenti pointed out that everything they need in order to concentrate on their practice. David Barbaqadze, Besik Lezhava, David Imnadze, and David Dekanosidze are the new comers of the team, so the team meets the start of the 20th Georgian basketball championship in a great mood, added Jgenti. According to the information that we received, “MIA” is planning to add legionnaires to the team later on.

To remind you, Archil Jgenti’s team was very close to bronze medals during the last, 19th Georgian championship, but lost the decisive fixture with “Batumi”. Irakli and David Beruashvili, Giorgi Nikoladze, Giorgi Markoishvili, Soso Shermadini, Lekso Lapanashvili, and Lado Sukhishvili are the players that left in the club from the previous season. Atuashvili, Abuladze, Beruashvili, Pataria, and Yvelashvili left the club.
