Rati Aleksidze: "My Father Was Everything for Me"

Rati Aleksidze has been playing in Hungarian “Gyori” for more than two years and he is the best forward of the club. Many people thought that Rati could not play in better championship than Georgian one. But talent cannot be lost and only one word is enough to present his talent – “Chelsea”. Aleksidze played for “Chelsea” at the age of 21-24. He played for the second team of “Chelsea” but John Terry, Samuele Dalla Bona played there too.

Interview of a 32-year-old Georgian football player was published on the website of “Gyori”. Rati talks about his father who died several years ago.

“I think, my father was proud of me. He taught me love of football and always supported me. One day, when I was playing for “Dinamo” Tbilisi, I was informed that “Spartak” Moscow wanted to buy me. I talked to my father about it and he told me not to hurry. Soon I received call from London… and I went to “Chelsea”. Death of my father was a tragedy for me. One day when I was walking in the park with my child, I felt smell of the grass – suddenly I wanted to return football so much. My friends asked me to resume career. And one of my friends took me to “Lokomotive” Tbilisi. But if I could not play well, I would have left the club”.

This happened in 2007 and to everyone’s surprise Rati returned to his form soon. He was the best player in “Lokomotive” and then he played in the national team. Now, he is in “Gyori” and is going to end up his career in this club:

“I like everything here. “Chelsea” is my past. I had great impressions in London”.
