Georgian young rugby players after South African probation have just arrived in homeland. First time in Georgian sport history 7 rugby players had training and preparation special course in Stellenbosh Academy.Those players are the following: Lasha Lomidze (“Academy”), Levan Gogolashvili (“Academy”), Sandro Koiava (“Lelo”), Merab Sharikadze (“Academy”), Goderzi Chincharauli (“Lelo”), Zurab Dzneladze (“Aia”), Giga Gagoshvili (“Shevardeni”).Those player met journalists and shared all the impressions.
Gia Chumburidze (The Head of Georgian Rugby Union):
“It is the first occasion when we sent such big group of sportsmen for probation. We hope that our goal will be achieved. Unfortunately we sent these sportsmen at the end of the course and hope in the future our sportsmen will be able to study during whole course”. Whole course consists of ten months and Georgian sportsmen studied for three months. It is planned to improve this gap for the nearest future, but all these are depended on sponsorship. Only 3-4 will be able to study whole course. If there will be sponsors sportsmen for the new wave should be chosen in the half of January. The most problematic is midfielders and defense line for Georgian National Team and the players in these lines will have more chances. It is worth mentioning that those players who studied in South Africa will be able to show their new tricks at the end of October at European Championship.  

 “There is paid attention to every detail, from sleeping regime to feeding. Maybe we are physically stronger but they are better at tactic, can make decision in shorter period. We participated in several matches, but would be better if we studied whole 10-month period”-stated one if the player Merab Sharikadze, who plays in “Academy” in Georgia.It became know at the press conference that Georgian A National Team will not leave for South African meeting at the end of the year. They could not find relevant opponents for Georgian rugby players.
