Oleh Blokhin was persuading the fourth referee that after the kick of Marko Devic the ball crossed the line of goal but in vain. It was clear that the main referee, Viktor Kassai of Hungary was not going to change his decision. It was hundred per cent goal. Two big screens installed on “Donbass Arena” and a monitor in journalists lounge showed it.
 

My colleagues mentioned that the referee must have counted this goal. One of the English journalists, who supported his team for two halves said the same after the match. He remembered that uncounted goal which England scored against Germany in South Africa in 2010. “It is football”, - he added. The referee made another mistake when Terry played with hand against Yarmolenko. The mentioned match showed that decision of UEFA to add referees and not to use video referee did not work. It is obvious that after the match pretensions of Oleg Blokhin were well-grounded: “There are five referees and could not notice that the ball crossed the line with 50cm and then, Terry played with hand”.
 

It is clear that nothing can be changed now. But it must be said that those teams went through playoff from this group which really deserved it. It is doubtless that England has better team than Ukraine. For example, Gerrard and Rooney. Blokhin does not have such players in his team. Gerrard was named as the best player of the match. It cannot be said about Andrei Shevchenko. He was a substitute because of knee injury. “Sheva”, “Sheva” – tribunes demanded and Blokhin let 35-year-old forward play. Ukraine did not play badly and perhaps, deserved a point.  
 

The whole England was waiting for the return of Wayne Rooney and forward of “Manchester United” returned with the goal of victory. Draw was enough for England to go through the next round but playing against Spain is not desired. So, the goal of Rooney was important. Before the match against Ukraine, Hodgson had Carroll in lineup but after the return of Rooney he played on the field from the first minute. He was not mistaken because Rooney had only two moments and he used one. Gerrard made goal assist.
 

It must have been seen how English fans expressed their excitement after the goal. It is surprising how much energy this people have. They can support their team for two halves without a rest. Ukrainian fans were in majority but the British did not feel oppressed. The abovementioned journalist told me about his compatriots: “They will spend the whole night with drinking beer”.
 

Oleksandr Zavarov, former football player of the Soviet Union team, “Dynamo” Kyiv and “Juventus” Turin, attended the match. Before the match, he made comment for one of the Ukrainian TV channels and then, sat in press lounge. After the end of the match, he told me that the goal of Ukrainians must have been counted. As for the favorites of the tournament, Zavarov considers Spain and Germany. According to him, the tournament is held on normal devel but he cannot distinguish any player at the group stage. The group stage has ended up and “Donbass Arena” is preparing for ¼ final. On June 23, Spain and France will play against each other.
