Ballot of Davit Kipiani Cup’s semifinals was held at Georgian Football Federation instead of the press conference hall of “Mikheil Meskhi”.
Domenti Sichinava, president of GFF, put small balls in glass cup, mixed up and Mikheil Khutsishvili, sports director of “Zestafoni”, took out the first ball. Then, it was turn of administrator of “Metallurg” Rustavi Gia Labauri. In the semifinal, “Zestafoni” will play against “Metallurg” and “Gagra” – against “Dila”. Mikheil Apkhazava, manager of Public Relations and Legal Department of “Gagra”, came up to the cup to find out whether his team holds the first match at home or not.
By the way, before the ball most people believed that the teams would be paired this way. Prediction has been fulfilled 100 per cent.
Mikheil Khutsishvili (sports director of “Zestafoni”): “It is not important for us who will be our opponent. All four teams are strong. Cup is unpredictable tournament. Chances are 50/50. The team which will be better prepared will go through final”.
Koba Zhorzhikashvili (head coach of “Metallurg”): “We have a strong opponent and fans will watch other two great matches. Our chances are equal. We will try to win. It is doubtless that “Zestafoni” is a good team. “Zestafoni” and we know each other well”.
Temur Makharadze (head coach of “Dila”): “Teams do not go through semifinal accidentally. All four teams are good. We held a match against “Gagra” few days ago and it was a difficult match. We have a worthy rival”.
Mikheil Apkhazava (manager of Public Relations and Legal Department of “Gagra”): “Dila” is a strong rival. The last match which we held against this team showed it. We did not deserve that failure. Do not think that we have given up. We are owner of Cup and we will do our best to keep the title. The team will prepare for the semifinal and we must go through the final. “Metallurg”
