Four Georgian tennis players Natia Gegia, Ani Gogvadze, Sofia Shapatava and Tatia Mikadze ended up participation in the Yerevan tournament (Armenia, 25 000 USD). All of them lost in 1/8 final.
Gegia lost to No.1 seed Lesia Tsurenko of Ukraine 2:6, 2:6. Gogvadze could not win over another Ukrainian Irina Buryachok – 3:6, 0:6. Mikadze lost to No.2 seed Julia Cohen of America 4:6, 5:7. Shapatava lost to Anastasia Grymalska of Italy 3:6, 6:4, 6:2.
In doubles tournament, Mikadze and Shapatava defeated Hungarian Bulgakova and Belarusian Marozava 6:4, 4:6, 10:6. Mikadze and Shapatava are through the semifinal where they will play against Russian Shamayko and Ukrainian Vasilieva. Gegia and Armenian Amiraghyan lost to Cohen and Chilean Coch-Benvenuto 7:5, 2:6, 9:11.
