Papinashvili Improves Rating with Quarter Final

Amiran Papinashvili and Davit Asumbani, who were competing in 60 weight category finished participation at Baku World Masters without medal. Two hours ago started the first international tournament of 2011 in the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku. Today, winners will be found out in three weight categories -60, 66 and 73. Georgia was represented in this weight category only by two participants –Papinashvili and Asumbani.

Amiran Papinashvili started competing at Baku World Masters with beating Italian Elyo Verde. Georgian sportsman awarded yoko and went through quarter final.  Due to going through the 1/4final he automatically gained 80 rating points. With going through the semi-final he would gain 160 points, but he could not manage to beat World Champion Rishod Sobirov of Uzbekistan.

Davit Asumbani who is on the 16th place in world rating won over European champion Arsen Galstyan of Russia with awarding ippone at the 5th minutes.

Champions in three categories will be found out in the evening and champions in left four categories will be found out tomorrow.  Tomorrow Levan Tsiklauri (81 kg), Varlam Liparteliani (90 kg), Levan Zhorzholiani (100 kg) and Zviad Khanjaliani (+100 kg) will represent Georgia.
