Pantsulaia Gave up Leadership

 

Levan Pantsulaia (2592) played draw against Ayaz Mammadov of Azerbaijan (2404) in the third round of international chess tournament which is underway in the city of Iran, Rasht. Pantsulaia has 2.5 points and is in the 10th place.

Giga Kuparadze (2451) has the same points and is in the 12th place. Kuparadze beat compatriot Akaki Shalamberidze (2330) with white pieces.

Levon Babujian of Armenia (2474), Homayoon Toufighi of Iran (2444) and Oleg Korneev of Russia (2584) advanced after three rounds. Korneev defeated Azaladze in the last round.

The game between Korneev and Babujian will be central in the fourth round. The game of Pantsulaia and Toufighi also causes interest.

Sulkhan Sirbiladze (1998) is in among leaders with 3.0 points in Group B of Khazar Cup. Paata Machaidze (2050) is in the 82nd place with 2.0 points.
