Paikidze Regained Her Lost Leadership


Georgian chess player Nazi Paikidze (2346) celebrated her next victory at the 60th Russian Championship which is held in Saint Petersburg. She regained her lost leadership.
In the 6th round Paikidze beat Russian Vera Nebolshina (2349) with black pieces and collected 5.0 points. Nazi is sharing the first and the second places with another host Svetlana Matveeva (2379).
In the 7th round Georgian chess player will hold another difficult match. Russian Marina Romanko (2411) will be her opponent. Romanko has the highest rating and is in the 3rd place with 4.5 points.
Russian Championship is held from August 25 till September 3 and 34 chess players are competing in it. Only two of them are foreigners - Paikidze and Serbian Maria Manakova (2306). Prize money of the tournament is 300 000 RUB.
