World Junior Championship is underway in the city of India, Chennai. Georgia has two representatives at the tournament – Nazi Paikidze (2416) and Keti Tsatsalashvili (2318). Paikidze is No.1 seed among girls and justifies status of favorite – she celebrated two victories.
In the second round, Paikidze beat Azerbaijani Ulvia Fatalieva (2107) on the 38th move. 11 chess players have two points. Nazi will play against Turkish Kubra Ozturk (2258) in the third round.
As for Tsatsalashvili, she played draw against Argentine Ailen Martinez (2011) and is in the 59th place with 0.5 points. Indian Shristi Shetty (1927) is her next opponent.
The World Junior Chess Championship which is underway in “Vijai Park” hotel includes 13 rounds and finishes on August 15. August 8 is a day-off.
