Otar Gabelia head coach of Georgian National U-21 Team is unsatisfied with Genady Sidenko (Moldova) referee of the match between Georgian and Moldovan U-21 teams which was held in the capital of Moldova, Chisinau (2:2). Gabelia talked about this match with “World Sport”.
Otar Gabelia:“I do not blame referee in our failure, but he added 6 minutes without need. The first penalty kick did not look like penalty – Moldovan kicked the ball in front of him, jumped into the penalty area and lied on the field. In the second case our player was playing against Moldovan player on the penalty line, our rival lied down in penalty area and the referee set penalty kick. Each member of our delegation was smiling due to it, even Moldovans. I told them that such thing would not do favor on their team. Their head coach said – you were the same two years before. I did not guess what he meant. Two years ago Totadze scored goal in 40 meters distance. As it appeared they were angry that “Dinamo” won over Moldovan club at Europa League, “Dacia” could not manage to go through the next stage due to failure with “Zestaponi’ and due to all these they were preparing. I took there 20 soccer players and before the match I was told that only 7 substitutions were allowed. I wanted not to participate in this match at all, in advance we sent letter that we were talking 20 players. While competing at Austrian tournament, 10-15 substitutions were allowed. It was sparring match and I wanted everyone to play for several minutes. They really did not have bad team. I liked Moldovan team very much. Team base where we were living was really amazing”.
- You did not take Levan Mchedlidze, in reason of having a little trauma, but on Wednesday he played sparring match for “Emople”.
- 10 days ago Mchedlidze called me and told me that he was suffering leg again. I told him to prepare for September 1 and to decide coming as his club’s doctors would decide. In case of having 50/50 % chance of coming I advised him to stay there. On August 9 Giorgi Malaridze had match (“Le Mans”), he would be in Moldova at 1 o’clock on August 10, in such case his participation in this match was excluded. As for Solomon Kvirkvelia, “Rubin” asked us to let him rest, because he played 15 matches in five days.
- How much serious is Tornike Tarkhnishvili’s trauma?
- It is not serious, it was just sparring match and that’s why I did not take any risk.
- Was Chanturia’s playing satisfying for you?
- He played in a normal way but we want more movement from him.
- Are you planning any change before the match against Spain?
- We are planning to start preparation on August 28. Before the match against Spain, we will call up 22 players. We have already chosen main staff but our players have matches in their clubs and we will observe them.
