Otar Gabelia: "The Second Half Was Ours"

It is amazing and glorious: Neither Georgian national team nor youth team lost a match in 2010. They held 8 matches, won 4 matches and finished 4 draw. Especially, Georgian U-21 team has the best result. They won 3 from 4 matches and played one draw. Team of Gabelia added 3 gained points (1:0) in Turkey to the victory against Armenia. They have almost guaranteed the second place in Euro qualifying group. Last year Georgians beat Turkish team 4:0 in Zestaponi.
"World Sport" contacted Gabelia and talked with him about the won match in Sacaria:
- Unfortunately, we were not able to watch this match in Georgia. Tell us about the match...
- The fist half was equal but we looked better in the second one and controlled the match. We could have scored another goal - Tsinamdzgvrishvili and Daushvili had good chances to score goals. But I am satisfied not only with the result but also with the match. I have not said anything new with this: If we have not played well, how we could have won in Turkey... Roin Kvaskhvadze caught good balls. Turkish players have chances to score a goal but we missed more chances.
- What was the main reason of your victory?
- Concentration, fight and devotion. I want to thank boys for playing well. At first they were respectfully toward Turkish players. I cannot say that it was fear. I told the boys during the break that they should have attacked more actively.
- According to the photos, the pitch does not look in a good condition.
- Yes. Besides that, the match turned out very rough. We had to substitute Klimiashvili and Sharashenidze played last minutes instead of him. I wanted to substitute Okriashvili with Shonia but then I changed my mind. Okriashvili worked hard and he was tired.
- Is his injury serious?
- I do not know yet. But he could not have continued playing.
- You said the match was rough but referee showed only one yellow card.
- No, it was rough match with many penalties.
