Georgian team competes successfully in Division B of European U-20 Basketball Championship. We hoped that our team would beat Denmark in the last match of the second group stage. It happened so and we are close to Division A.
Georgian team gained decisive advantage in the first quarter, earned more points than Denmark and went through the semifinal. Tornike Shengelia was still the best player. Akaki Dvalishvili played also well. He played against Bergstedt (210 cm). Bergstedt earned 16 points within 39 minutes. Dvalishvili collected 21 points within 32 minutes.
So, Georgian U-20 team is in semifinal and will play against Czech Republic which took the second place in the second semifinal group. The match between Georgia and Czech Republic will be held on July 23 and in case of victory, Georgia will go through final and Division A.
