Georgian judo team won only one medal at Baku World Cup. On the second day of the tournament, Levan Zhorzholiani (100 kg) stood on the highest step of the pedestal.

Zhorzholiani defeated four opponents. He started participation from 1/8 final and won over Rafael Shahverdiyev of Azerbaijan. Then, he beat Jason Koster of New Zealand and Askhab Kostoev of Russia. In the final, Levan defeated Javad Mahjoub of Iran and earned 100 rating points with gold medal.

Today, champions were found out in 81, 90 and +100 kg. Paata Gviniashvili and Shota Javakhadze wrestled in 81 kg. Georgian team did not have participant in 90 kg. Adam Okruashvili competed in +100 kg.

Javakhadze lost in the first round – to Tural Safguliyev of Azerbaijan. Gviniashvili won over Farkhad Ruzukulov of Kazakhstan but lost to future champion Arsen Pshmakhov of Russia. Okruashvili wrestled in repechage and took the fifth place. Soslan Bostanov of Russia beat Georgian judoka in ¼ final. Adam lost to another Russian Aslan Kambiev in “bronze final”. Besides these two losses, Okruashvili managed to win two matches in Azerbaijan. He defeated Andrey Fatiyev of Azerbaijan in 1/8 final and Chris Sherrington of Great Britain in semifinal.
