This morning, Georgian judo team returned from Algeria to Tbilisi. Tomorrow, the team will leave for another foreign meeting – Japan. The team of Peter Seisenbacher will participate in preparation circle with 10 sportsmen who made Olympic norm. Austrian head coach of the team will name the best seven sportsmen at the last meeting.
“Our team will arrive in Japan on Sunday and will start training on Monday. On May 20, the team will move to South Korea and will prepare with the local team at Iong Ini University for six days. Then, they will arrive in Japan and stay at Tokai University till June 5. After these meetings, the team will return to Georgia and will depart for two international tournaments till June 25. Perhaps, they will leave for Brazil and Argentina. We are planning to participate in training-camps in Czech Republic and Spain since June 25. The team will hold the last meeting at Dusheti Olympic base since the middle of July” – Giorgi Aleksidze, president of Georgian Judo Federation, told “World Sport”.
The following judokas have enough points for London: Amiran Papinashvili, Betkil Shukvani (both 60kg), Lasha Shavdatuashvili (66kg), Nugzar Tatalashvili (73kg), Avtandil Chrikishvili (81kg), Varlam Liparteliani (90kg), Levan Zhorzholiani, Irakli Tsirekidze (both 100kg), Adam Okruashvili and Zviad Khanjaliashvili (both +100kg). Shavdatuashvili, Tatalashvili, Chrikishvili and Liparteliani will compete in Olympic Games. 2-2 candidates are in 60, 100 and +100kg. Those who will be on the best form at the end of July will leave for London.
