Omar Tetradze head coach of “Volga” Nizhny Novgorod gave an interview to “Sport Express” where the topic – “Many Georgians in Tetradze’s team” was touched again.
- If “Volga” takes the 14th place, will it satisfy you?
- Now the main thing is to please football fans and play spectacular football. We play all the matches for winning. This time my goal is being in top 8. In such case I will think about other goal. It is not correct when you reach some success and you are satisfied.
- Being in top 8 will grow self-confidence of players, will not it?
- Of course it will. When we play against “Spartak” it was obvious that our players were not sure in their possibilities. After the match all of them guessed that it is possible to fight against any of the rivals and that’s why their playing against “Dinamo” Moscow was another.
-You have always friendly relations with journalists. It is interesting how you relate with players. For example, do you scream at them during training?
- I do not like lazy people. I am strict with them and very often it is necessary to talk in a loud voice. But I cannot offend players. Their career is short and they must have three necessary habits: character, healthy and high-class. How many talents did not succeed, why? Because, they did not have normal character.
- Who is the clearest example of dull player.
- Mamuka Aptsiauri, Georgian player who was born in 1969. He died at the age of 22 or 23. He was brilliant talent whole Georgia was talking about him, he was playing in “Dinamo” Tbilisi and was compared to Michel Platini. He had everything besides character, that’s why he did not play. I have never seen such player.
- Once you had problems due to presence of many Georgians in the club. What kind situation is now?
- As for “Georgian task” we were transferring those players with very short of money or just without money. Their salary is minimal and it goes without saying that is suitably for us. There are six Georgian players in “Volga”, it is worth mentioning that Khojava and Grigalava have Russian passport. I was told at the press-conferences in Anzhy that there were a lot of Georgians in the club. Who I had to fire? Mikheil Ashvetia? They- no, he is strong player and don’t touch him. Valery Abramidze? – the same answer. Khojava? No, he is our favorite player. Martsvaladze? No, do not touch him. What shall I do? Is it my fault that they are Georgians?
