It is such occasion when favorite is satisfied with gaining score. “Olimpi” Rustavi was to lose but managed to win the match in extra time.
Irakli Modebadze forward of “Torpedo” received the ball near the penalty area and Lasha Silagava referee of this match set the free kick in such doubtful situation. Modebadze fall down but as it seemed nobody “helped’ him in it. Vako Tkemaladze kicked the free kick and the ball was to fail but it touched to lucky shoulder of host Jaba Ugulava, it changed the direction and entered in the goal.
This goal was doubtful because players were demanding out kick. At the 61sn minutes Lasha Kebadze kicked the ball in 15-16 meters in direction of goal and scored. This goal was not doubtful in compare the first one.
As for other goals, playing was equal. “Olimpi” had advantaged only at the end of the match.
In the first half guests attacked to rival’s goal twice but goalkeeper Giorgi Seturidze saved the situation twice. “Olimpi” had little advantages only in the centre of the field. Modebadze assisted to Getsadze twice but in both situations he could not score. Omar Migineishvili reacted very well and saved the situation. The most difficult for Miginesihvili was Irakli Maisuradze’s kick, but in spite of this he parried it out.
And the ideal moment: Gia Megreladze assisted to Vakhtang Kvaratskhelia who was face to face to goalkeeper, he was to kick the ball and he stepped it. It was happened at the 49th minutes. Before the goal of Kebadze both teams attacked once, defenders dived after kicking of Kavtaradze and Popkhadze managed to save situation after attack of Megrelidze.
What was happening after the scoring? Everything was going on calmly for “Torpedo”, but Modebadze did his best. Getsadze in compare of other matches was very passive and that’s why he was changed. Tkemaladze and Giorgi Chelidze were not distinguished in attack line. More time passed more careful was “Torpedo”, “Olimpi’ did not have even one 100 percent chance and at this time… Tkemaladze’s kick, changed direction by Ugulava and curious goal.
After the match:
Gia Gigatadze: “ It was good match. In fact we won it but curious goal was scored. To tell the truth we played against one of the best Georgian teams. As for free kick, as it seemed in distance there was not committing the rules. Leadership of our club wonders this moment and we will watch video record”.
Tornike Maisuradze: “First of all I am satisfied that Georgian teams are getting stronger and stronger. One of them is “Torpedo”. I think they will gain points against other clubs too. It must be mentioned that due to injury and disqualification several players did not participate in this match. The result is logical to my mind”.
