International Judo Federation published a new world ranking. As the season is coming to an end no big changes were made in the ranking. Most members and candidates of Georgian team are in the same place. Though, there is some news. Levan Zhorzholiani (100 kg) and Zviad Khanjaliashvili (+100 kg) advanced. Zhorzholiani moved from the 15th place to the 12th and Khanjaliashvili – from the 27th place to the 23rd.
Amiran Papinashvili (60 kg) has the highest ranking from Georgians. He is in the seventh place with 708 points. Besides Papinashvili, Varlam Liparteliani (90 kg) is in top 10 too. He is in the 9th place. The worst situation is in 66 and 73 kg where Georgians have regress.
Shalva Kardava (66 kg) is in the 41st place and he will be able to compete in Olympic Games. License quota for Europe is not enough for Nugzar Tatalashvili (73 kg). If this week he competes in Samoa World Cup well, he will improve the situation.
22 best sportsmen of each weight class will win a right to compete in London Olympic Games. If two judokas of one country get in the first 22, then the 23rd judoka will participate in Olympic Games. Besides that, IJF will give 14 licenses to Europe.
