“The day for changes has come”, - Roman Pipia, owner of “Dinamo” Tbilisi, started talking to journalists with these words.

Alex Garcia is dismissed from “Dinamo”. Giorgi Devdariani is appointed on his position. Fitness coach Mark Uget is fired with Garcia. Andres Carasco, curator of the club academy, stays in the team yet. He has to decide whether stays in the team or not.

There are some changes in managing board: Sandro Shakhov is appointed as a general director. He was a director of “Dinamo Arena”. As for Zurab Pololikashvili, he became vice-president of the team.

There is a question, why Garcia is dismissed now when the team has almost finished Spanish meeting. It will be difficult for Devdariani to work for “Dinamo” which held meeting with other coach.

All questions were answered. Pipia and Devdariani talked in the press conference hall of “Dinamo Arena”:

- Pipia: - Pololikashvili and I have a project which has no connection with “Dinamo”. So, we gave time to Zurab. As for Shakhov, he is a good manager and I believe he will make working process of “Dinamo” more effective. Giorgi Nemsadze is still sports director. Devdariani is in front of you and he will answer your questions.

- Why is Garcia dismissed? What was the main reason?

- Pipia: - Garcia is the best, honest person. I have no pretension to him but it was not enough for those goals which the team has.

- Devdariani is a good coach and has a good reputation but is not it dangerous to appoint him now? He did not hold meeting with “Dinamo”…

- Pipia: - It is my prerogative to dismiss Garcia. I repeat goals of the team are the most important. When I was president of the team (“Sokol”) in Russia, I fired many coaches. Once, the team was in Turkey for meeting and I fired coach. Three weeks ago, Garcia and I agreed on some terms but he did not carry out them.

- Devdariani: - Of course, it is good for coach to hold meeting with the team. I feel responsibility. I played for reserve team of “Dinamo” and I did not have a right not to stand by the club of my dream.

- Does breaking contract with Garcia mean financial loss for “Dinamo”?

- Pipia: - Of course, it does.

- What about the issue of Spanish players?

- Pipia: - Devdariani has to decide it. I am sure Giorgi will make a right decision.

- You stated at the beginning of January that Garcia would stay till the end of the season. What terms did not he carry out?

- Pipia: - I will not hide I was going to dismiss him in January. I often heard we must give time to coaches but why we did not give time to Kakha Kacharava? Now, we have bigger budget. Garcia had a chance and he did not use it. Now, Devdariani has a chance.

- What terms do you mean?

- Pipia: - We agreed on strengthening coaching base and improving fitness issue. I did not like the situation which was while the meeting.

- Appointing Shakhov as a general director is unexpected. He does not have football experience – why did you make this decision?

- Pipia: - Neither Pololikashvili had it. He is economist and businessman. Football experience is not important. I will add one thing, Pololikashvili and I are not going anywhere.

- “Dinamo” sent some players on loan. Are going to send others too?

- Devdariani: - Even “Barcelona” and “Real” are looking for better players. It is a vivid process and it will go on. The players will stay in the team. The team has fitness problem. As for attacking potential, Garcia and his team have worked on it. I have some ideas.

- Is dismissing Garcia too late?

- Pipia: - It is a bit late. I will not lie – I say what I think. But I did not see a big problem. Giorgi will be with the team tomorrow and will coach the team in the last match of the preparation meeting.

- “Dinamo” has not balanced the staff. There are two players in midfield and offence. The team has problem in defense. You did not add defender in winter…

- Devdariani: - It was decided yesterday that I would have become coach of “Dinamo”. I did not sleep all night. Not because I am afraid but because of responsibility. Defense problem will be solved. Do not forget, there are talented players in reserve team of “Dinamo” too.

- Issue of Sandro Guruli is decided yet?

- Pipia: - It is not decided yet.

- U-19 team will play in elite-round of European Championship in spring. Who will coach the team – Devdariani or Kakha Kacharava?

- Devdariani: There are two tournaments before May. I will coach the team in elite-round. Zviad Sichinava, president of Georgian Football Federation, understood this issue and I will be coach of U-19 team till summer.
- Who will be coach of “Dinamo” reserve team?
- Pipia: - I will say that after 2-3 days.

So, tomorrow, Devdariani will be with “Dinamo” at Spanish meeting.
