Georgian tennis player Anna Tatishvili continues advancing in ranking. 22-year-old Tatishvili is in the 75th place in a renewed WTA ranking. Anna has 822 points.
Tatishvili is in Memphis and will start participation in the main draw this evening. Lucie Hradecka who is considered as one of the favorites of the tournament is the first opponent of Anna. Czech tennis player is in the 58th place in WTA ranking.
The match between Anna and Lucie will start at 21:30 Tbilisi time. Later, Tatishvili will play in doubles draw. n 1/8 final, Tatishvili and Michaella Krajicek of Holland will play against No.4 seed duet of Maria Kondratieva of Russia and Sophie Leferve of France.
Tatishvili has held two matches against Hradecka. In 2010, Czech beat Anna 5:7, 6:3, 7:6 (8:6) in Acapulco. Last year, Hradecka won Anna over 6:3, 7:5 in Midland. Last year, Tatishvili lost the first match in Memphis (to Ksenia Pervak of Russia 3:6, 4:6). In case of beating Hradecka, Anna will enrich points.
30 rating points are for going through the second round of Memphis tournament. ¼ final gives 70 points, semifinal – 130, finalist – 200 and champion – 280.
Former Georgian No.1 tennis player Oksana Kalashnikova will return to court this week. She is in the capital of Russia, Moscow, and won one match in the qualifying draw of the tournament (25 000 USD). No.2 seed Kalashnikova beat Nadya Kolb of Ukraine 6:4, 6:3. If Kalashnikova defeats Sviatlana Pirazhenka of Belarus, she will play in the main draw.
