Georgian Freestyle and Greco-Roman Wrestling Team have one meeting left before World Championship. Zaza Turmanidze and Begi Darchia’s teams will have the final training of qualifying round in Sport Base in Dusheti. Neither Turmanidze nor Darchia named the last list, but as we were informed by National Wrestling Federation, tam of freestyle wrestlers had already been staffed and the seventh in Greco-Roman 7-man team is still unknown.
The most important tournament of this season will be hosted by Moscow on September 6-12. First three days will be for classic wrestlers. On September 6 will find out prize-winners in 55, 66, 96 weight categories. Lasha Gogitidze (55 kg), Manuchar Tskhadaia (66 kg), Soso Jabidze (96 kg) will represent Georgia. On September 7 will be found out champions in 60, 84 and 120 weight categories. Revaz Lashkhi (60 kg), Vladimer Gegeshidze (84 kg) and Guram Ferselidze (120 kg) will wrestle. In September 8 wrestlers will wrestle each other in 74 weight category. In August 23 Begi Darchia supposedly will name wrestler who will represent Georgia in this weight category. Choice is between Manuchar Kvirkvelia and Giorgi Tsirekidze. According to head coach Kvirkvelia suffers from ankle’s injury.
Due to injury Ramaz Nozadze (96 kg) is excluded to be sent to World Championship. World and Europe Champion is treating and supposedly will return to International arena next season. Zaza Turmanidze’s wrestlers will start competing in World Championship on September 10-12. On the first day, will found out champions only in light weight and Besik Guchashvili will represent Georgia. In September 11 will be found out champions in 60, 84, 96 weight categories and next day prize-winners will be found out in 66, 74, 120 weight categories. Malkhaz Kurdiani (60 kg), Otar Tushishvili (66 kg), Gela Sagirashvili (74 kg), Davit Marsagishvili (84 kg), Giorgi Gogshelidze (96 kg) and Levan Berianidze (120 kg) will represent Georgia.
