Morten Olsen: "We Are in a Strong Group and We Estimate the Situation Substantially"

As I have written in the previous article, it was not known who would come from Danish team at the press conference. Morten Olsen, head coach of Danish team, forward Dennis Rommedahl and midfielder Lasse Schone showed up in the conference hall. Before journalists asked questions, Olsen promised us that they would show beautiful football. According to Olsen, Holland is a good team but Denmark is not going to give up. They want to go through the next round.

Dutch journalist asked the first question. He asked Olsen if he considered Holland as a favorite in tomorrow’s match. Holland is a finalist of last Mundial. This team has experienced and high class players. Perhaps, it is a favorite, - answered head coach of Danish team.

The next question was asked to Dennis Rommedahl. He was asked how important it is for their team that 1300 compatriots will be on tribunes. Dennis answered that this number is not impressive but they respect Danish fans and they will try to make them happy. He is sure that fans will actively support them.

Portuguese journalist asked Olsen what he thought about Portugal. Olsen answered that they were concentrated only on the upcoming match and they would think about Portugal later. But after that, dialogue with Portuguese journalist went on – we are in strong group but if we are lucky, we can make through ¼ final – stated Olsen.

Who is dangerous for you from Dutch team? Morten Olsen answered this question. Do you know lineup of our future opponent?

The next interviewer highlighted football and coach experience of Olsen, how the fact that Olsen had played at World Championship would have helped the Danish team. Olsen stated that they have a good team and he hopes players will show themselves.

The next question was about sports form of the Danish national team. The journalist wanted to know if the team of Olsen is on optimal form. The specialist answered: “When you play your own game, you have more chance of victory. We will try to do it”.

Lasse Schone (I asked my Danish colleague to pronounce his last name) stated some words at the end of the press conference. He stated they would do their best to show good game.

After the end of the press conference, the Danish team practiced for 15 minutes. Then, we were told to leave the stadium. We were able to watch practicing of the Danish team in press lounge by “Camera spider”.
