Georgian youth Greco-Roman wrestling team managed to win the only one medal on the last day of European Championship. Sachino Davitaia (66 kg) stood on the pedestal. He needed one victory for becoming champion.
Davitaia lost against Russian Magomed Chukhalov. Before that, he beat four opponents: Frunze Harutyunyan, Turkish Dogan Goktas, Romanian Razvan Motoi and French Diego Jussot.
On June 26, champions and prize winners were found out in 55, 84 and 120 kg. Tornike Totikashvili (55 kg) held only two matches at European Championship. He beat Romanian Ovidiu Atanasoaie but lost against Bulgarian Nikolay Vichev.
After beating Bulgarian Stanislav Kanev, Croatian Stjepan Lavric and French Samba Diong, Davit Chakvetadze (84 kg) lost against Ukrainian Zhan Beleniuk in semifinal and Turkish Aslan Atem in repechage final. Chakvetadze took the fifth place.
Heavyweight Sergo Gogisvanidze lost against future champion Russian Vasily Parshin.
Georgian team ended up European Championship with 4 medals. Like Davitaia, Nika Tsetskhladze (50 kg) stood on the second step of the pedestal. Zurab Datunashvili (74 kg) and Sandro Dikhaminjia (96 kg) took the third places.
