Mikheil Mchedlishvili (2629) Georgian chess player gained 8.0 in the 11st round and took the 9th place at the Orissa international tournament. Belarusian Aleksey Aleksandrov (2628) gained 9.0 points and became champion.
In the final round Mchedlishvili won over Indian chess player Venkatesh (2463) with black pieces. It was the sixth victory for him. Mikheil played draw four times and in decisive match he lost with Indian Grover (2485). Due to it Mchedlishvili lost chance of championship.
Mchedlishvili was ranked No.2 at the Orissa international tournament. Armenian Tigran Petrosyan (2643) who was ranked No.2 took the second place with 8.5 points.
