Mchedlishvili Is 0.5 Point behind Leaders

 

Baku international tournament has 2 leaders after four rounds. In the previous round Baris Esen of Turkey (2588) and Eltaj Safarli of Azerbaijan (2620) played draw and are still leaders with 3.5-3.5 points.

Mikheil Mchedlishvili (2374) has the best result – 3.0 points from Georgian chess players. Mchedlishvili defeated Ayaz Mammadov of Azerbaijan (2403) with white pieces and is in the 12th place.

Here are the results of other Georgians participating in “Baku 2012”: 17. Nino Batsiashvili (2410) – 2.5; 25. Sophiko Khukhashvili (2245) – 2.5; 26. Gaioz Nigaladze (2449) – 2.5; 35. Tornike Sanikidze (2586) – 2.0; 38. Levan Pantsulaia (2575) – 2.0; 43. Salome Khazhomia (2143) – 1.5; 50. Ana Gavasheli (2360) – 1.5.

10 countries started competition at Baku international tournament. Prize money of the tournament is 50 000 USD. Russian Anton Korobov (2705) who has the best ranking among the participants is in the 6th place with 2.5 points.
