Mate Ghvinianidze - "Tame Lion" of Munchen

German journalist Y.Kellner of “Merkur online.de” wrote down article about Georgian football player Mate Vatsadze “Munchen 1860” Bundes Liga. Journalist titled article in such way “Tame of wild Mate”.

According to author a lot of people think that Mate lives none football life and others consider him as one of the distinguished defender. R.Maurer who was appointed as a head coach of “Munchen 1860” before the season says that he knows Georgian player quite well and he is under strict control.
Since July Ghvinianidze plays in “Munchen 1860” and has chance of playing in the main staff. Last season he played 28 matches and in the current season he only once could not participate in match due to stomach pain. It is worth mentioning that 23-year-old player has much more problems in discipline than in football. In the last season former head coach of “Munchen 1860” Linen got so angry with Georgian player due to discipline that wanted him to leave club- one of the club from England Champions League wanted to take him on lease. The pick of the tense situation was when the player forgot to carry trainers for the match against “Oberhausen”. The club fined him and did not call him up for the next match due to this fact.
But after this Ghvinianidze got back and still plays in the main staff. The only reason is that “Munchen” did not have any other choice in defense and statistic also is for Mate. He is on the second plays among best defenders in Bundes Liga for several seasons.

Maurer guessed that had two choice of taming “cheerful” Mate – to make him leave club or being him under strong discipline. New coach chose the last one and has doing in since the first day. According to the author of the article new coach managed to “tame” him, but he kept his dressing style which looks like “gangster style” and still continues loving of fast cars. By the way, last year when “Lokomotive “Moscow was in Munchen, when Ghvinianidze noticed Malkaz Asatiani and David Mujiri Georgian players of “Lokomotive” stopped his Porshe jip in the middle of the road in such way that blocked movement. Certainly such behavior for the disciplined German is uncommon. But Mate started drive after conversation with compatriots.
