The 7th round of World Senior Championship turned out unsuccessful for the Georgian chess players. The tournament is under way in the city of Croatia, Opatija.
Tamar Khmiadashvili (2158) lost to Yelena Ankudinova of Kazakhstan (2158) and is in the second place with 5.0 points.
Nona Gaprindashvili drew with Swietlana Miednikova of Russia (2166) and is in the 4th place with 5.0 points.
As for Nino Melashvili (2126), she lost to Elena Fatalibekova of Russia (2252) and is in the 9th place with 4.0 points.
In the 8th round Gaprindashvili will face Khmiadashvili and Melashvili – Tatiana Bogumil of Russia (2074).
At the men’s tournament Sergo Tsomaia (1859) lost to Herman Van Riemsdijk of Brazil and is in the 50th place with 4.0 points. In the next round Tsomaia will face Valery Agzamov of Uzbekistan (2183).
