Georgian chess player Konstantine Shanava (2566) lost with black pieces against Russian Evgeni Vorobov (2565) in the last round of Karen Asrian Memorial which was held in the city of Armenia, Jermuk. He took the 2nd place. Draw was enough for him to become a champion.
One day before the end of the tournament, Shanava and Armenian Tigran Kotanjyan had 6.5:6.5 points. Kotanjyan played with white pieces against Georgian Davit Magalashvili (2455). He played draw and unfortunately, Shanava lost the match.
Kotanjyan became champion with 7.0 points. Shanava collected 6.5 points along with three chess players (Magalashvili was among them) and according to additional data, he took the 2nd place. Magalashvili took the 4th place.
