At "Black Sea Cup", "Lokomotivi" Tbilisi held a match against another Romanian team. This match was held with reversionary scenery of "Lokomotivi" first group match.
You might remember, team which is participating in a newly founded tournament, was losing 0:21 with Romanian "Arad" at the 37th minute. But they managed to advance with 28:27 at the 79th minute. But finally, they committed a foul and at the last minutes, they could not use the same chance and were defeated 28:30. In the group round, players of Davit Chavleishvili lost the second match with "Batumi XV" and for the 5th place they played against the second Romanian club "Bucharest". In the group round, "Bucharest" was beat by Ukrainian "Kredo 63" (23:28) and "Lelo" Tbilisi (21:45).
We have already mentioned Chavleishvili and we should repeat that Georgian clubs are playing with strengthened staff (as well as Romanian and Ukrainian clubs). So, if you read last names of other rugby players in "Lelo", "Batumi XV", "Lokomotivi", do not be surprised. At Georgian Championship, Temur Bendiashvili is coaching "Lokomotivi" but at "Black Sea Cup" Chavleishvili was coach of this club. Generally, Levan Mgeladze is coach of "Vissol-Kochebi" but he is coaching "Batumi XV" at "Black Sea Cup". Yesterday, clubs held matches for the 3rd and the 5th places. Georgian fans are more interested in the first match because Georgian "Lokomotivi" was playing against Romanian "Bucharest".
Before talking about the match, we should also mention that because of the fight between "Kredo 63" and "Bucharest", several players who were disqualified and had injuries were not able to play against "Lokomotivi". "Bucharest" had only 4 reserve players.
None of the teams wanted to take the last place and to disgrace themselves. "Lokomotivi" wanted to take revenge in front of their fans. At the 12th minute, Romanians had a chance to get first point but Minku missed shot from about 30 meters. First, at the 16th minute, Sokhadze shot exactly from 22 meters. Then, after 5 minutes, he shot exactly from 30 meters again - 6:0. Georgians scored a try at the 25th minute. Chitadze crossed the goal line of the rival. Sokhadze used conversion. After 3 minutes, "Bucharest" had a chance to minimize score with a penalty. But Minku missed the shot from 20 meters. In the added time of the first half, Sokhadze scored a try, then conversion and the scoreboard showed 20:0.
The second half started not so well for the hosts. Romanian referee sin-binned Gasviani at the 43rd minute and the guests used their advantage at the 47th minute when Komenesku scored the first try from Romanians. Yon missed the conversion and it seemed that there was nothing to worry about because at the 49th minute Sokhadze scored penalty and increased the difference up to 18 points. But during the last 20 minutes, "Lokomotivi" looked tired and "Bucharest" scored tries at the 60th and the 72nd minutes with exact conversions. There was only 4-point difference. Romanians tried hard and they needed only one try to win the match but "Lokomotivi" won 23:19 and finished participation at "Black Sea Cup" with the 5th place. "Bucharest" went home ashamed.
In the match for the 3rd place, Ukrainian "Kredo 63" was almost in the same situation as "Bucharest" (opponent of "Lokomotivi"). Because of above-mentioned fight they had only 6 reserve players. But they defeated another Romanian club "Arad" 17:12 and after Georgian clubs they took the 3rd place. Georgian fans were supporting "Kredo 63" and it was not surprising. First, Ukraine is more friendly country for Georgia than Romania. The second more important factor is that Georgian players are playing for "Kredo 63" and their coach is also Georgian.
At the beginning of the match, after the crash, rugby players from both teams were injured and they were changed. At the 15th minute, Ukrainians were advanced with the try of Vasilak and conversion of Monastirov. Monastirov missed the penalty at the 28th minute. 5 minutes before the break, "Arad" scored try, Marian - conversion and the half finished draw.
At the begininng of the second half, 2 tries were scored. At the 43rd minute, Monastirov scored try and conversion. At the 52nd minute, "Arad" scored its try but missed conversion.
After 3 minutes, "Kredo 63" was in a difficult situation. Referee sin-binned Kobilashvili. Romanians could not use this advantage. The only thing they did was to take penalty but missed it. At the 66th minute, Monastirov advanced Ukrainians with penalty. Ukrainians had advantage when at the 74th minute, Romanians were left on the field without one player. Ukrainians had two chances to change the score till the end of the match. But their penalties from 40 and 45 meters were missed. "Kredo 63" took the 3rd place by beating "Arad" 17:12.
