Liparteliani and Okruashvili in Paris Top 5

 

Varlam Liparteliani (90 kg) and Adam Okruashvili (+100 kg), members of Georgian judo team, finished participation in Paris Grand Slam in ¼ final. They took the 5th places and gained 60-60 rating points.

Liparteliani lost against Brazilian Tiago Camilo by waza-ari. Before that, he beat Dutch Robby Van Laarhoven by yuko. In the 1/8 final, Liparteliani won over Polish Krzysztof Veglarz.

Okruashvili lost against Cuban Oscar Bryson. Before this match, Okruashvili beat two opponents: Bulgarian Ivan Iliev and Estonian Martin Padar by ippon within 3 minutes.

Today, winners of 81 and 100 kg will be found out. Levan Tsiklauri and Lasha Zurabiani wrestled in 80 kg. Tsiklauri started participation from the 3rd circle. He beat Finnish Antti Virta and went through 1/8 final but he could not do anything against Argentine Emanuel Lucenti. South American judoka made one yuko, waza-ari and ippon within 3 minutes and half. Zurabiani held only one match. He lost against Uzbek Mumin Nabiev.

Levan Zhorzholiani (100 kg) won over French Mael Le Normand within 3 minutes. In 1/8 final, he was beat by Japanese Riunosuke Haga at the 14th second.

So, Georgian judo team finished participation in Grand Slam with bronze medal of Amiran Papinashvili (60 kg).
