On April16, by Tbilisi-Istanbul- Cairo flight, Georgian national tennis team (Anna Tatishvili, Sofo Shapatava, Sofo Kvatsabaia) leaves for Egypt, where they will compete at Federation Cup from April 18 till 22.  

 Georgia, Denmark, Finland, Latvia, Montenegro, Norway, South Africa and Turkmenistan will compete in this mentioned tournament. After arriving in Cairo, will be held ballot and mentioned teams will compete in two four-team groups. In each group, matches will be held in circle system. I-II place winners of the group will fight for going through the first group. III-IV place winner teams will fight for keeping place in the group. After ending the group stage, teams will hold one match.

Before leaving for Cairo, “World Sport” has talked Lali Zerekidze captain of Georgian national tennis team.

- Have you called everyone who you wanted to be in national team?

 - Unfortunately, No.2 seed of Georgia Maka Chkhnashvili will not be able to compete at this tournament. She has contract with one of the French clubs and her club matches coincided to this tournament. We will lack her mastership and experience.

-  Why Oksana Kalashnikova does not play?

 - Kalashnikova has just recovered and she is not in desirable physical condition.

- Will Dannish team have one of the stars of women tennis, Carolina Wozniacki?

 - I do not know exactly, but I think she will not be delightful to play in the second group of Euro-African zone.

- How many reps of top 100 play at this tournament?

 - Only Anna Tatishvili leader of Georgian national team competes in Cairo from Top 100, she is now No.85 seed.

- So, Georgia is a favorite of the tournament.

 - Cairo tournament does not have any distinguished favorite. Every team can surprise us.

- It goes without saying that Anna Tatishvili will be No.1 in our team. Who will be No.2 player, Kvatsabaia or Shapatava?

 - I do not know yet.  It will be found out after arriving in Cairo.
