Ranking-favorite Bela Khotenashvili (2490) became winner of Georgian 69th Women’s Chess Championship. In the last round Khotenashvili played draw with Madona Bokuchava (2058) and earned 8.0 points in 11 rounds.
Khotenashvili was one point ahead of second-placed Meri Arabidze (2337) who lost to Nino Batsiashvili (2438). Nino took the third place with 6.5 points. These three chess players won a right to play in Supreme League of Georgian 70th Women’s Chess Championship. Khotenashvili also won a right to participate in Women’s World Rapid and Blitz Championship (Batumi, 30.05/06.06-2012).
Khotenashvili and Arabidze will be financed for European Women’s Championship 2013. They will also be presented for grant.
Top 3 was awarded with medals and diplomas. Prize money was distributed this way: Khotenashvili – 4 000 GEL, Arabidze – 3 500, Batsiashvili – 3 000, Paikidze – 2 000, Melia – 1 000.
