World Championship started unsuccessfully for Georgian freestyle wrestling team – Vladimir Khinchegashvili was left beyond top 6. He could not gain silver medal and license for London Olympic Games 2012.
Georgian wrestler (55 kg) beat Fernando Jose Paredes Roja of Venezuela – 7:0 7:0, Muda Ki of China 6:0 6:0 and Naatale Sam Shilimea 7:0 6:0.
Khinchegashvili lost to Radoslav Marinov of Bulgaria. He won the first period 1:0 but lost the second-third ones 2:3 and 0:1. In repechage, he lost to Hasan Rahim of Iran and took the 7th place.
Tomorrow, champions and prize winners will be found out in 60, 84 and 96 kg. Malkhaz Zarkua (60 kg), Davit Marsagishvili (84 kg) and Giorgi Gogshelidze (96 kg) will wrestle in the name of Georgia. Franklin Gomez Matos of Puerto Rico will be the first opponent of Zarkua. Marsagishvili will start participation from the second round. He will wrestle against Georgian Emzar Bedinaishvili who is competing in the name of Greece. Gogshelidze will wrestle against Teimuraz Tigiev of Kazakhstan and will try to take revenge over him.
