After March 28, 2007 (on that day Georgians won over Faroe Islands 3:1). Georgian national team had chance to score three goals, but Shota Grigalashvili could not manage to score penalty at the 88th minute. As a result Georgian national team started and finished 2011 year with victory.
According to the main staff it was clear that Temur Kestbaia head coach of “Crusandars” wanted to see everyone’s possibilities in this sparring match. That’s why there were called up three debutants, those are the following: Irakli Maisuradze of “Metallurg” Rustavi, Tornike Gorgiashvili “Zestaponi” who substituted Jano Ananidze at the 58th minute and Giorgi Janelidze of “Wit-Georgia” Tbilisi who played for the last five minutes.
Statistically Janelidze was the most productive among the debutants. He touched the ball first time, started attack from the right wing and was pushed in penalty area, as a result penalty kick was set. As it has already been mentioned Grigalashvili could not use the chance and could not score the penalty kick.
It must be mentioned that Nika Gelashvili and Sandro Kobakhidze were very active. The first goal was scored as a result of their combination. Gelashvili assisted from the right wing and Kobakhidze kicked the ball with head and scored at the 36th minute – 1:0.
Lado Dvalishvili was the only forward in this match. He played his role in the second goal combination, After kicking a standard kick, Amisulashvili kicked the ball by the head, the ball touched the goalposts and pushed the ball out. Dvalishvili was to kick but he was pushed down and was set the first penalty kick. Ananidze kicked the first penalty kick and managed to score – 2:0.
It is remarkable that Otar Kobakhidze was very distinguishable player in this match, before scoring the goal, it was cleared up that he is left-hander and cannot use right leg well. Due to rudeness he was sent-off from the field.
After long pause, Ketsbaia called up Giorgi Ganugrava midfielder of Hungarian “Gyori”. In the first half he and Sandro Guruli managed to defense Georgian goal well.
it is the 17th match under Temur Ketsbaia (in total “Crusandars” played 169 matches), 6-6 victories, draw and 5 failures (goal balance 15:13) during last two years. It is remarkable that national team started and finished 2011 with victory.
