Kalashnikova Became Champion in Uzbekistan

 

Georgian tennis player Oksana Kalashnikova won the second tournament in the last one month. At the end of March, Oksana won Almaty tournament (Kazakhstan, 25 000 USD) with Maria Pashkova of Russia. This time, she won Namangan tournament (Uzbekistan, 25 000 USD) with Marta Sirotkina of Russia.

Georgian-Russian duet won four matches. Kalashnikova and Sirotkina were not seeded in Namangan, though they lost only one set in the tournament.

In the first round Oksana and Marta defeated Ekshibarova of Uzbekistan and Shlomo of Israel 7:5, 6:3. Then, they beat Russian-Ukrainian duet (Artamonova-Kozlova) 6:3, 7:6 (7:4). In semifinal they defeated Pekhova of Belarus and Puchkova of Russia 3:6, 7:6 (7:5) 10:6. In final Oksana and Marta won over Broady of Britain and Kania of Poland 6:2, 7:5 and earned 50 rating points. Kalashnikova participated in singles draw too but in the first round she lost to Aleksandra Artamonova of Russia 5:7, 6:0, 2:6.
