Georgian No.2 tennis player Oksana Kalashnikova is still in China and is competing in Wenshan tournament (50 000 USD). Croatian Ani Mijacika, one of the winners of the qualifying round, was her first opponent. Mijacika beat Georgian 7:6 (7:2), 6:2.
In doubles tournament, Kalashnikova and Ukrainian Kapshay will play against No.4 seed Thai-Kazakhstan duet (Lertcheewakarn-Voskoboeva).
Maka Chakhnashvili could not win the qualifying round of Monzon tournament (Spain, 50 000 USD). Georgian tennis player beat German Anna-Lena Groenefeld 1:6, 6:3, 7:5 and Venezuelan Andrea Gamiz 6:2, 6:3. Though, Maka could not win over Portuguese Maria Joao Koehler – 4:6, 5:7.
In doubles tournament, Chakhnashvili and Croatian Lisjak beat No.4 seed Russian duet – Bratchikova and Ivanova 6:4, 1:6, 10:6. In ¼ final, they will play against Italian Dentoni and Russian Pivovarova.
Natia Gegia beat Russians Antonina Rafikova (6:2, 6:2) and Alisa Danilova (3:6, 7:5, 6:2) in the qualifying round of Astana tournament (Kazakhstan, 10 000 USD). In the main draw, she was losing against Russian Mukhabbat Saidova 1:6, 1:4 when she stopped playing.
In doubles tournament, Gegia and Kazakh Arginbayeva beat hosts Kerimbayeva and Sagitova 6:2, 6:4. In ¼ final, they were to play against No.1 seed Belarusian duet (Marozava-Pirazhenka) but because of Georgian’s injury, their opponents won without fighting.
Ekaterine Gorgodze beat Bulgarian Dessislava Mladenova 6:1, 6:2 in the first round of Antalya tournament (Turkey, 10 000 USD). Gorgodze will play against Austrian Patricia Haas in 1/8 final. In doubles tournament, Gorgodze and Czech Tumova lost against Czech duet (Hancarova-Horakova) 3:6, 7:6 (9:7), 9:11.
Irina Toidze, Barbare Eristavi and Tamar Tskhakaia could not win the qualifying draw in Antalya. Ani Gogvadze won 3 matches and after going through the main draw, she lost against Austrian Denise Maxl 1:6, 0:6.
