After transferring from “Milan” to “Genoa”, Kakha Kaladze has playing practice. A captain of Georgian National Team plays in Serie A defensively. In a talk with Ukrainian segodnya.ru he did not hide that the main reason of his transfer in “Genoa” was to have playing practice and in such way he would help National Team more. Due to it he accepted lower salary in “Genoa”, as he had in “Milan”.
- How do you feel in “Genoa” after “Milan”?
- Thanks God I feel well. I play defensively and that’s very important for me, because I played 8 matches for “Milan” in last season and it was disaster and I was feeling very uncomfortably.  Now I play and play quite well. I am glad that I changed club, I needed it. But to tell the truth this decision seemed very unpleasant at the beginning. 
-“Milan” is fighting for championship and “Genoa” for keeping place in League. Do not you worry about it?
- Of course, these all play its role. I played 10 years in “Milan” and won everything what was possible, I played my role in it. But in any case more important is to have playing practice for me, because I am a captain of Georgian National Team. That’s why I changed the club. I knew quite well, if I did not play defensively, I would have problems in National Team. I did not want head coach of National Team to feel uncomfortably due to me. When captain does not play defensively in his club, it is not good example for other members of National Team.
- How did you leave “Milan”?
- I have good relations with Silvio Berlusconi, Adriano Galiani and fans. When “Genoa” was playing against “Milan” in “San-Siro” stadium, fans made poster and on it was written the following words:”Gracias Kaladze”, they thanked me for all these what I had done for “Milan”. Maybe it is little detail, but for me it is very pleasant.
- Have you moved to Genoa or u stayed in Milan?
- I have apartment either in Genoa or in Milan. There is 120 km distance between those cities. I am sometimes in Milan, sometimes in Genoa.
- Do not you spend more time in Genoa?
- No, I do not. I spend more time in Milan. It takes me to get Milan from Genoa one hour.
- How did new club greet you?
- Fans and leadership of the club are satisfied with me. Papers were writing that after operation I would have problems, but I do not suffer from leg and feel as fit as a fiddle.
- For having playing practice you have lower salary now.
- There is now such salary in “Genoa” as in “Milan”. But I have never played football due to money, neither in “Dinamo” Tbilisi, “Dinamo” Kiev nor in “Milan”. I am very satisfy what I have in “Genoa”.
- Leonardo former head coach of “Milan” trains “Inter” now and fans named him as betrayer…
- It is sport and such thing is very common. I understand quite well why his decision made them sad. He stated several times that “Milan” was his family. No one could imagine that he would leave the club for “Milan”. But in spite of this his decision is not betray for me. It is up to him, where he continues career, in “Inter” or in “Juventus”.

- Would you ever transfer in “Inter”?
-  I cannot say what would decide. But “Inter” has never offered me it.
- Will “Shakhtar” beat “Roma” in 1/8final of Champions League?
- It is very difficult to say it in advance. “Roma” is very good club. “Shakhtar” plays very beautiful football. They have very interesting style of playing. “Roma” has very strong midfielders and forwards.

- Whom you consider as a winner of Champions League?
-   I think, it is “Barcelona”.
-  Marcello Lippi can be appointed as a head coach of Ukrainian National Team, how this fact is estimated in Italy?
- Two months ago papers were writing down that Ukrainian side offered him being head coach of their National Team. To my mind, it is good choice for Ukraine.
- Is Lippi better than Ukrainian coach?
- I think foreigner is better. Lippi has authority.  He won a lot of titles.  He knows how to work with celebrities. 

- Some specialists think that Lippi has already showed all his possibilities and he cannot give anything to Ukrainian National Team….
-  It does not mean anything. Maybe Lippi does not work now, but he is one of the best coaches.
- What is his trump?
- I have never worked with him, I know that he is strong tactic and psychologist. Lippi will create good team.
-  Have you got relationship with Andrey Shevchenko? Once you said that played golf with him…
-  I am not good at golf. I saw Andrey before New Year, when I was in Ukraine.

- First time when we rang you up for an interview, you told that you were at the cinema. What did you watch?
- I watched “Avatar” in 3D.
- How did you like it?
-  I liked it very much. But “Romanze Criminale” made the biggest impression on me before.
- With whom you watched “Avatar”?
- With my wife.  We left our son Levani at home, with his baby-sitter.
