Temur Ketsbaia a new head coach of Georgian National Team has changed the position of the captain Kakha Kaladze after his appointing. Nowadays he plays in the left wing and he played in this following position in four qualifying matches of European Championship 2012. He was quite well in this position and even assisted a goal in a match against Latvia. Till next year national team will not hold qualifying match and now we can make some estimation of their playing. “World Sport” has connected Kakha Kaladze in Italy and asked to summarize last matches.
- Georgian National Team was lucky at the final moment against Malta but in Riga happened vice verse…
- Everything is common in football- sometimes you will lose, sometimes you will win and sometimes you will draw. It is pity that we could bring 3 points from Latvia, but we could not manage to bring. But everything is ahead, there is left a lot of games. In March we have home match against Croatia and we should gain three points.
- What do you think, is it our maximum to gain 4 points against Malta and Latvia, or we deserve much more?
- We could gain 6 points in these matches. Beside this it is pity that we draw home match with Israel, because we could win. Generally, Georgian National Team can success in home match against any opponent, because many of the teams have difficulty to play in Georgia.
- Is our position relevant in a group?
- To my mind according to the previous matches, we could be in a higher possition. In case of winning over Latvia we would be on the second place. But the result is the following. We should pick our nose up. It is true that there were some mistakes, but generally national team played well. We continue fighting and we have chance of high positions in a group.
- What has been changed in national team under a new coach Temur Ketsbaia?
- First of all a playing discipline was improved, what was the main problem in Georgian National Team, even then when there was playing very talented generation. Team seems that does its best in the pitch and finally it reflects on the final result.
- Till here, you were playing as a defender, but now you play on the left wing. You seem satisfied in this position.
- I will play in any position if it is necessary for the team. To play in the left wing is common for me, I was playing in this position in “Milan” during years. So, it is not problem for me. 
- Do you agree with head coach’s opinion that team needs much more creative players?
- In my opinion nowadays who are called up for the national team are the bests and they do their best. Kenia sufferes from injury and Mchedlidze started playing now, when they will join us we will strengthen much more. Having high-class players will be better for us, when there are 4-5 high-class players in a team it is easy to play.
- How will you estimate pitch?
- Once and forever this pitch must be repaired well. It is shame to talk about this topic in 2010. We would have discussed and talked other things and not pitch’s condition. When Georgian National Team plays the pitch must be in good condition.
- You were waiting for more playing practice after transferring in “Genoa”. But you do not have. What is the reason of it?
- I do not have problems in “Genoa”. When I returned in club after team’s playing in September I was suffering from heel and then it became worse, that’s why I missed some games. I was in the main staff in the last match, but after training I was suffering from leg pain. Now everything is ok and I hope I will play in the nearest matches.
- The match between Italy and Serbia was delayed due to Serbian fans. Did thy damage stadium and how did Italy estimate this fact?
- It became political task. They were protesting recognition of Kosovo and burnt Kosovo’s flag. It is very bad what happened, it does not have any connection to sport. A stadium was damaged, but it will be repaired. Here it does not take years to change chairs, as it happens in Georgia.
